What version of Windows 7 should you get? Well that is definetiley a good question my answer to it is with another question. What so you need to do on a computer? (1) Do you have to do specific things for business or something else in that line or (2) are you just the average everyday person that wants this upgrade? If you are in the (1) category definetly choose Windows 7 version Ultimate for some major features I will state here.

Windows 7 Ultimate is designed for people who want it all.

  • Simplify everyday tasks: find something instantly, compare documents side-by-side, or easily back-up your complete system over a network. Further protect your data with Bitlocker security
  • Enjoy a PC that works the way you want it to: supporting 64-bit technologies and offering XP Mode for your business productivity applications.
  • Make new things possible: watch Internet TV, pause, rewind, and record TV or use Touch to interact with your PC in new ways. You can also choose to work in any one of 35 languages on the same PC

And category (2) would have to choose between Windows 7 Home Premium which has :

Windows 7 Home Premium offers the best entertainment experience on your PC.

  • Simplify everyday tasks: find something instantly, compare documents side-by-side, or open your favorite file in just two clicks
  • Enjoy a PC that works the way you want it to with better support for today’s technologies, like 64-bit PC hardware and memory
  • Make new things possible: watch Internet TV, pause, rewind, and record TV or use Touch to interact with your PC in new way

Or you may want the slightly more advanced Windows 7 Professional which covers these features :

Windows 7 Professional has everything you need for work and home

  • Simplify everyday tasks: find something instantly, compare documents side-by-side, or easily back-up your complete system over a network
  • Enjoy a PC that works the way you want it to: supports 64-bit technologies and offers XP Mode for your business productivity applications
  • Make new things possible: watch Internet TV, pause, rewind, and record TV or use Touch to interact with your PC in new ways

Well those two different types of Windows 7 do have there differences but which one would be best for me? Well do you plan on just using this computer as a just look at stuff download something, write a paper, and do other normal things like that Windows 7 Home Premium would suit you nicely, but if you have multiple computers that you want to share files over you could do it over Windows 7 Professional’s built in network maker for the PC files on your WiFi at your home. Also what happens if an application you need to run for work only works for XP well Windows 7 Professional has XP Compatibility Mode, so you are definitely safe there. Windows 7 is basically personal preference to what you are doing in life.

Well good luck choosing and I hope you enjoy your new Windows OS, I’m still preferring to stay with Mac OSX but thats just me. Yes I do have Windows 7 Ultimate on my family’s Windows Laptop and I’m enjoying it a lot more then Vista or XP for that matter I enjoy the User-Interface is a lot more sleek and fun to work with that XP and its simple but nice design.

I hope this post may have helped you with the choosing of your Windows 7 version, and I hope you enjoy this brand new Windows OS.

Mac Mini Worth It? November 19, 2009

First off why get the Mac Mini? Well, Duh! Its in the price range of $600 to $800 dollars and $1000 for the Mac Mini server which is by far the cheapest of Apple Macintosh so is there a reason not to buy it? In my opinion as an apple fanboy I’d say there isn’t a reason not to buy it because they added addition memory in this version and increased processor speed. It’s definitely a great buy the specs for the $600 Mac Mini are 2.26Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (big upgrade), 2GB of DDR3 RAM Memory, 1 160GB Hard Drive (+ good amount), NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, and an 8x double-layer SuperDrive and the new Mac OSX 10.6.1 ( .1 ** will be upgraded as Apple upgrades the OS). And the other two Mac Mini’s just get even better. Wait where is the screen well unfortunately your going to have to buy one which may take a chunk of change if you use a Apple LED Cinema Display, but you will be getting one heck of a nice screen. Or you may just want the cheap way out of it and get a PC monitor. Personally I would go with the PC monitor unless I had the money for the LED Cinema Display, and I mean I’d rather go with the Apple display but the price difference. For example the Apple 24″ Cinema Display http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB382LL/A but its a WHOPPING $900 bucks… I mean its a lil’ much but is definitely worth it for the quality. And an HP 2509m 25″ Diagonal Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/display/display/1/storefronts/NT195AA%2523ABA that is only a mere $310 bucks. Well to continue on the topic of Mac Mini’s is are there any other companies that send you pre-installed software with your computer besides the OS, I’d assume only Apple and is Apple’s customer support way better then any PC companies is I’d think yes… So what do you guys think of this device? Is it worth the price or is it just a waste of money and should just buy a uber PC Desktop for $1000 (with the monitor).

I just found out a friend of mine bought a PC (not sure was it is) and it came with Windows 7 free Upgrade. And now when Windows 7 came out he gets the actual upgrade free but not the installation. He called in to Best Buy wanting to get his software disc of Windows 7 and the Geek Squad told him that he has to pay $40 dollars just for them to install it. He can’t get the software unless they install it for him. Which is total bull what do you guys think of Best Buy’s wacky Geek Squad since you can just get the software and install yourself just as easy…
